Syahi Begar

The oldest printing tradition in Bagru. Cloth is first treated with myrobalan, then printed with a fermented ink of iron and jaggery. The result is a distinctive, enduring dark print on undyed cotton or red-dyed ground — one of the purest expressions of Rajasthani block print.
